About the Wettability Symposium

The International Symposium on Wettability and Porous Media is a long-standing international meeting that brings together scientists and engineers interested in the affinity of fluids for surfaces in porous media. Originating in 1990 and evolving alongside the energy transition and major advances in interfacial science, the symposium has become a key forum for understanding wettability across scales from molecular and pore-scale physics to the macroscopic behaviour of porous materials in real applications.

For more information, readers can consult a paper on the past, present, and future of the symposium, published in 2024 following the 15th edition.

The 16th International Symposium on Wettability and Porous Media was held in Sydney from 29–31 January 2025 and was organised jointly with the 4th Biennial Meeting of the InterPore Australian Chapter.

About InterPore BeNeLux

The International Society for Porous Media is a non-profit, independent scientific organization established in 2008, aimed at advancing and disseminating knowledge for the understanding, description, and modelling of natural and industrial porous media systems. Established in 2015, the InterPore BeNeLux Chapter holds biennial meetings, offering a local platform for its community in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
